Client Centered Counseling

Approach

COVID-19 UPDATE: Multnomah Therapy has resumed offering masked indoor and outdoor therapy sessions in addition to telephone and/or video sessions. If you need support during this time, please reach out. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact Multnomah County Crisis Line at 503-988-4888.

Unique to Multnomah Therapy, I offer both traditional psychotherapy treatment in Portland and wilderness immersion counseling throughout all of Oregon.

I specialize in serving individuals that have survived traumatic life experiences who may be dealing with PTSD or acute stress. I also provide counseling for depression and other anxiety related concerns. I realize each client is in the best position to direct the process and pace of his or her therapy. I view you as the expert of your own life, and so I offer therapeutic teachings and treatments from a collaborative approach. I will listen to you from a non-judgmental and open perspective, therefore offering you respect and regard.

I believe we adapt to experiences to the best of our capabilities, and yet sometimes we don't have enough support, information, or resources to make optimal decisions. As a result, we can end up adopting thoughts, feelings, or a way of living that can be harmful to ourselves and possibly others. From a mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioral framework, I teach techniques you can use right away to unlock the traps which might be keeping you stuck. I draw on empirically-based treatment modalities, personal creativity, humor, and even wilderness experiences to support healing and help clients create desired changes. I enjoy counseling others, and I hope my services can be of help to you.

In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they’re still beautiful.
